Published book reviews can appear in academic journals, newspapers, and magazines. They provide an overview of the book and indicate whether the reviewer recommends the book to the reader or not. Reading reviews written by others can help you get a feel and flavor of what good book reviews are.

A great book review writing requires both subject area and genre knowledge. As a college student, you are required to demonstrate that you have examined the book from different angles. The points you raise in your book review need to be supported with clear evidence as for other forms of academic writing.
